C.O.D., George Williams College of Aurora University

Williams Bay, Wis., November 2, 2006 — College of DuPage (C.O.D.) and George Williams College (GWC) of Aurora University on Oct. 16 signed an articulation agreement that will enable C.O.D. Travel and Tourism students to transfer their core courses and designated general education courses to GWC's Commercial and Public Recreation Administration Program in Wisconsin.

George Williams College of Aurora University is located in Williams Bay.

C.O.D. transfer students will also be eligible for C.O.D. transfer student tuition grants at Aurora University.

"We are very excited to have developed this articulation agreement with the Travel and Tourism program at College of DuPage," said Rita Yerkes, dean, School of Experiential Leadership at the George Williams College of Aurora University. "Our faculty members look forward to working together with C.O.D. Travel and Tourism coordinator Joanne Giampa and her faculty in preparing students for this profession."

The George Williams College campus is surrounded by the resort and tourism industry around the Lake Geneva area. For students, it will blend the theoretical concepts with "hands-on learning" in the travel and tourism field, Yerkes said.

"Our Travel and Tourism students choosing to transfer to George Williams College of Aurora University will experience a unique opportunity not available to them at any other institution of higher learning," Giampa said. "The George Williams College campus is located directly on Geneva Lake and will provide students with a peaceful environment to complete their studies. I recommend this option to anyone who is so inclined to consider it."
