Aurora University President Honored by the Geneva Lake Association, Inc.

Williams Bay, Wis., September 1, 2006 — Rebecca L. Sherrick, president of Aurora University, was honored with a commendation from the Geneva Lake Association, Inc. at the July 15 meeting of the association.

Sherrick was honored by the association for her leadership role in restoring and refurbishing the historic George Williams College of Aurora University campus, located on Geneva Lake in Williams Bay.

Since Sherrick was appointed as president of Aurora University in July of 2000, the George Williams College campus has experienced a significant number of changes, including the renovation of facilities and campus grounds, and the addition of new facilities, including the Winston Paul Educational Center and the One Step Lodge. In addition, new undergraduate and graduate academic programs have been added, and the Music by the Lake series was revived in 2001.

James Hanny, president of the Geneva Lake Association, said, “The association is thankful that Aurora University and Dr. Sherrick have chosen to maintain and enhance the George Williams College campus and partner with the local community for the betterment of the local area.”

Established in 1935, the Geneva Lake Association is dedication to conservation, ecological preservation and education, and the general welfare of the Geneva Lake area.
