Learn sailing, rent boats at George Williams College of Aurora University

Williams Bay, Wis., June 6, 2006 — Sailing classes and rental boats are available at George Williams College of Aurora University at 350 Constance Blvd. in Williams Bay.

Sailing classes are held at the campus waterfront. They include Youth and Adult Beginning classes, an Adult Intermediate class, and an Adult Beginning Keelboat class.

The Youth Beginning class, for ages 12-17, is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 12-16. After beginning instruction on a Sunfish boat, students will progress to larger boats. A swim test and water shoes are required. Cost is $90.

The Adult Beginning course, for ages 18 and older, is from 1:30 to 4 p.m. June 19-23. After beginning instruction on a Sunfish, students will progress to larger boats. A swim test and water shoes are required. Cost is $100.

The Adult Intermediate class, for ages 18 and older, is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 26-30. Instruction includes a review of sailing basics and then focuses on becoming a better sailor. After beginning instruction on a Sunfish, students will progress to larger boats. A swim test and water shoes are required. Cost is $110.

The Adult Beginning Keelboat course, for ages 18 and older, features two sessions. The first is over two weekends 1 to 4 p.m. June 10-11 and June 17-18. The second is mid-week 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 19-23. The cost for each is $130.

A variety of boats are available for hourly rental from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Labor Day. Keelboats, day sailors, Sunfish, kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes, and rowboats are available. Hourly rental fees are $15-$60.
