Spartan Named Top Conference Player

AURORA, Ill. October 13, 2005 - Aurora University football senior wide receiver Joe Folliard (McHenry, IL/McHenry HS) was named Illini-Badger Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his stellar play in the Spartans’ 25-0 win over rival Benedictine University.

In the win, Folliard had five catches for 157 yards for a 31.4-yard-per-catch average. His longest reception on the day was for 47 yards. On the season, Folliard has a team-high 20 receptions for 418 yards and two touchdowns. He is averaging 20.9 yards per catch and 83.6 yards per game for the Spartan offensive attack.

The Spartans, led by Folliard’s receiving efforts are 2-3 overall and 2-1 in IBFC play. Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, October 15, 2005, when they host Concordia University in River Forest, IL. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on AU Field.
