Spartan Selected Preseason All-American

AURORA, Ill. August 2, 2005 - Aurora University Spartan football senior defensive back Robbie Parry was selected to the 2005 D3football.com preseason All-America team.

A second-team defense selection, Parry was also named to the D3football.com NCAA Division III All-American Football Team, following his performance in the 2004 season. An Honorable Mention All-American defensive selection as a junior, Parry (Palo Alto, Calif./Gunn HS), had a stellar first season (2004) at AU, which included being named Illini-Badger Football Conference (IBFC) Outstanding Defensive Back, First-Team All-Conference and Football Gazette Second-Team All-North Region. For the year, Parry made 68 tackles, 20 pass break-ups and four interceptions, one of which he returned for an AU-record 100 yards for a touchdown. He also led Division III with 24 pass break-ups for the year, 2.4 per game.

AU opens the 2005 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, when they host Cornell College at 1:00 p.m. on AU field. The contest will also mark the first game for first-year Head Coach Rich Duncan.
