Spartans Named NIIC All-Conference

AURORA, Ill. March 2, 2005 - The Aurora University’s women’s basketball team placed one player on the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference First-Team All-Conference and one Honorable Mention All-Conference selection.

Sophomore guard Beth Plucinski (Vernon Hills, IL/Vernon Hills) was named First-Team All Conference by the NIIC women’s basketball coaches. On the season in conference action, Plucinski averaged 10.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 7.08 assists per game.

Sophomore center Alison Kohler (Sandwich, IL/Sandwich) was named NIIC Honorable Mention All-Conference. Kohler averaged 9.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and shot 56.3 percent from the field in conference games.

On the season, Plucinski averaged 9.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.44 assists per game, while Kohler averaged 7.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and shot 50.3 percent from the field this season. AU’s women finished the season 7-20 overall and 6-6 in the NIIC.
