Workplace Immigration Issues Focus Of University Workshop June 25 AURORA, Ill.—“HR Legal Update,” a free business workshop focusing on workplace immigration issues, will be presented by Aurora University’s Human Resources Institute from 8 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in the lobby of Dunham Hall, 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. The public is invited. Networking and refreshments are at 7:30 a.m. The guest speaker is Penelope M. Lechtenberg, partner with Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in Rockford. Lechtenberg said her presentation is designed to make Illinois employers aware of the importance of immigration issues in every workplace. “In an atmosphere of increasing enforcement by the U.S. Departments of Labor and Homeland Security, our discussion will focus on the current and proposed legal requirements, and some best practices for ensuring compliance,” Lechtenberg said.
