Aurora University To Host Book Signings May 16 AURORA, Ill.—Two local authors will sign their books at Aurora University at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, May 16. The public is invited to the event in the lobby of the Institute for Collaboration at 407 S. Calumet Ave. in Aurora. Fred McKenzie of St. Charles will sign his first book, Theory and Practice with Adolescents: An Applied Approach. McKenzie serves as dean of AU’s College of Professional Studies and directs the School of Social Work. Theory and Practice explores non-traditional approaches to working with adolescents, including recreational therapy, games and play.The book costs $43.05, including tax. Glen Ellyn resident Sandra Alcorn will sign Strong Roots: A Group Memoir of George Williams College. In Strong Roots, Alcorn, a former GWC faculty member and dean of AU’s School of Social Work, records stories of generations who passed through GWC in the past 100 years.
