Aurora University Announces May Events Calendar

AURORA, Ill.—Annual commencement exercises for about 1,300 students, faculty book signings and a human resources workshop highlight May events at Aurora University.

The public is invited.  Events are free unless a fee is indicated.  The schedule is:

May 4: Graduate Commencement—The commencement ceremony for 2008 graduate students is at 10 a.m. on the university quadrangle. Information: 630-844-5460.

May 4: Undergraduate Commencement—The commencement ceremony for 2008 undergraduate students is at 2:30 p.m. on the university quadrangle. Information: 630-844-5460.

May 16: Social Work Continuing Education—“Aging and the Family: Multigenerational Challenges,” a workshop for social workers and others, is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium in the Institute for Collaboration. Cost: $90. Information: 630-844-5294.

May 16: Book Signing—Fred McKenzie of St. Charles will sign Theory and Practice with Adolescents: An Applied Approach and Sandra Alcorn of Glen Ellyn will sign Strong Roots: A Group Memoir of George Williams College at 4:15 p.m. in the Institute for Collaboration at 405 Calumet Ave. in Aurora. May 17: Benefit Walk/Run—Communities in Schools’ 5K Walk/Run is at 7 a.m. at Phillips Park in Aurora. Proceeds benefit the CIS city-wide after-school program.  Information: 630-844-3712.

May 28: HR Workshop—“Human Capital Planning,” a free human resources workshop, is at 8 a.m. in the University Banquet Hall. Information: 630-844-4894.
