AU Professor Awarded Scholarship to Business Language Workshop

AURORA, Ill.-- Denise L. Hatcher, Ed.D., associate professor of Spanish at Aurora University, was awarded a scholarship to attend a business-language workshop for foreign-language educators.

Hatcher, an Aurora resident, attended “Language and Culture for International Business” Feb. 21-23 at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tenn.

Hatcher was among a limited number of educators nationwide awarded scholarships by the Centers for International Business Education and Research at six universities, including the University of Memphis. 

Workshops in Spanish, German, French, and Japanese were offered.

The 14th annual workshop taught 71 foreign-language educators to understand the importance of international business, as well as business and culture, to adapt their curriculum to reflect new trends in the field of foreign-language instruction.
