AURORA, Ill.– Aurora University will host an art exhibit by Schaumburg High School students with a reception and scholarship awards presentation at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4.

The public is invited to the program in AU’s Downstairs Dunham Gallery in Dunham Hall at 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora.

The show, running through March 31, is free to the public. Hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Schaumburg High School recently won the 2007 Best School Art Program in Illinois award from the Illinois Art Education Association.

Meg Bero, director of the Downstairs Dunham Gallery, will present four AU scholarships to student artists. They are best in show, $1,500; first place, $1,000; second place, $750; and third place, $500. The scholarships are renewable annually to students who qualify.

Student artists will exhibit sculpture, photography, paintings, mixed media and other media.
