AU Women's Basketball Program to Sponsor "Think Pink Night"

Aurora, IL, February 10, 2008. The Aurora University women’s basketball program, in conjunction with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), is proud to sponsor “Think Pink Night” on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at AU’s Thornton Gymnasium.  The Spartans will take on Northern Athletics Conference foe Concordia University Chicago at 7:00 p.m.

The WBCA's "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The WBCA began "Think Pink" in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities. In 2008, more than 800 schools will unify for this effort and help make the second year of the WBCA's "Think Pink" campaign a success.

The Aurora University and Concordia University Chicago women’s basketball teams will be wearing pink shoe laces and arm bands during the game as well as pink warm up shirts during pre-game.  AU game event personnel will wear pink shirts during the contest.   All fans attending
the game are encouraged to show their support of the fight against breast cancer by wearing something pink. Additionally, raffles will be held offering pink autographed basketballs and autographed pink T-shirts during the game with all proceeds from the game tickets, donations and raffles benefiting the Kay Yow/WBCA Breast Cancer Fund.

Join the Aurora University women’s basketball team on Wednesday, February 13, at Thornton Gymnasium and contribute to the fight against breast cancer.
