Aurora University Announces February Events Lineup

 

AURORA, Ill.-An art exhibit, chamber-music concert, and free income-tax preparation highlight February events at Aurora University.

The public is invited. Events are free unless a fee is indicated. The schedule is: Feb. 2: Open House-A winter open house for prospective students is from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium in the Institute for Collaboration, 407 S. Calumet Ave. in Aurora. Feb. 5: Chamber Music Concert-The Bach Babes, a Milwaukee-based chamber-music group, will perform at 7 p.m. in Perry Theatre in the Aurora Foundation Center for Community enrichment, 1306 Kenilworth Place in Aurora. Feb. 8: Leadership Lecture-"Leaders and Women in Leadership," a free program, will be presented by Hispanic executive Linda Chavez from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Perry Theatre in the Aurora Foundation Center for Community Enrichment, 1305 Kenilworth Place in Aurora. Information: 630-844-5527.

Feb. 9: Religion Lecture-"Can Anything be Said for St. Paul?" a free lecture, will be discussed at 10 a.m. in room 320 of Eckhart Hall, 347 S. Gladstone Ave. in Aurora. Co-speakers are Martin Forward, executive director of AU's Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action, and Drew Taylor, a senior history and religion major from DeKalb. Reservations are requested. Feb. 16: Tax Form Preparation-AU's sixth annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is from 8 to 11 a.m. in Dunham Hall, 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. The service is sponsored by the Dunham School of Business for low-income, elderly, disabled, and non-English speaking taxpayers. Bilingual college students translate for Spanish-speaking taxpayers. The income limit is $50,000. Information: 630-844-6895.
