CBS 2 Chicago and the Aurora Beacon News to Present Two Debates for Illinois' 14th Congressional District

AURORA, Ill.-- CBS 2 Chicago and news partner The Aurora Beacon News will present two debates for the open seat in Illinois’14th Congressional District.  The Republican debate, moderated by CBS 2’s Rob Johnson, with candidates State Senator Chris Lauzen and Jim Oberweis, will be held on Tuesday, January 15th at 7:00 PM.  The Democratic candidates, John Laesch, Joe Serra and Jotham Stein, will debate on Thursday, January 24th at 7:00 PM with CBS 2’s Diann Burns serving as the moderator.  Both debates will be held at Aurora University’s Crimi Auditorium and both will be streamed live on cbs2chicago.com.

About the 14th Congressional District:  The 14th Congressional District encompasses a wide geographic area that stretches west from Elgin and Aurora to near the Iowa border. It includes all of Kane and Kendall counties and portions of DuPage, DeKalb, Lee, Whiteside, Henry and Bureau counties.  The candidates vying for the open seat are seeking to replace former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, who held the position for 21 years before retiring in late November.
