Collegians To Give Tips On Computer Safety Tuesday, Dec. 4
AURORA, Ill.--
Aurora University information technology students will give a free seminar on computer security at 5 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 4).
The public is invited to the program in room 118 at Dunham Hall, 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. The sponsor is the Management Information Technology club, a student organization.
Presenters will be Israel Llamas of Aurora and Matt Winkelman of Sugar Grove, co-presidents of the MIT Club and seniors majoring in management information technology at AU.
They will discuss how computer users can protect their equipment from viruses and malware, software designed to slow PC operation and to track users’ operations.
Additionally, they will demonstrate how users can protect and maintain equipment, and identify e-mail scams.
Students will also distribute free handouts on sources of free anti-virus and anti-malware software.
