Aurora University Invites Alums to Homecoming October 19-21
AURORA,
Ill, September 27,
2007—Four alumni will receive awards during Aurora University 2007 homecoming weekend Friday, Oct. 19, through Sunday, Oct. 21.
Alumni have been selected from across the nation to receive the Distinguished Alumni, Roger K. Parolini Lifetime Achievement,and George Peters Community Partnership awards at a Golden Reunion reception and banquet at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, in the lobby of the Institute for Collaboration, 407 S. Calumet Ave. in Aurora.
Alumni to be recognized are:
- Ann Cunningham Sheets of Fort Worth, Texas, a 1977 George Williams College alumnus, who will receive a Distinguished Alumni Award;
- Betty J. Parke Tucker of Kitty Hawk, N.C., a 1952 Aurora College (AC) alumnus, who will receive a Distinguished Alumni Award;
- Rosemary Fischer Humbles of Live Oak, Fla., a 1966 AC alumnus, who will receive the Roger K. Parolini Lifetime Achievement Award; and,
- Linnea A. Windel of St. Charles, Ill., a 1997 AU alumnus, who will receive the George Peters Community Partnership Award.

Homecoming events open at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, with a Founders' Convocation in Crimi Auditorium at the Institute for Collaboration, 407 S. Calumet Ave. in Aurora. Alums of the class of 1957 and earlier will be recognized. Faculty and staff will receive service awards.
The Saturday, Oct. 20, schedule features AU's football Spartans hosting Concordia-Chicago at 1 p.m.; and a concert by the John Jorgenson Quintet at 8 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium.
Homecoming events conclude on Sunday, Oct. 21, with an alumni soccer game at 2 p.m. by former Spartan women kickers. A reception will follow in Dunham atrium.
