Aurora University Announces October Events

2007—A homecoming celebration, business workshop and a jazz concert highlight events slated by Aurora University for October. Most events are free to the public. Events scheduled are:
- Oct. 4: Review Session-A review of language arts and writing topics for the Illinois State Board of Education Basic Skills Test is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in room 114 of Stephens Hall at 1305 Kenilworth Place in Aurora. Cost: Free for AU students alumni, $25 for others. Information: 630-844-5520.
- Oct. 8: Visit Day-High-school seniors and guests are invited to visit Aurora University during an annual fall visit day from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Information: 630-844-5533 or 800-742-5281, admissions@aurora.edu.
- Oct. 11: Art Opening-An opening reception for the "Lifting Prayer and The Native American Church" exhibit is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Schingoethe Center in Dunham Hall 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. A lecture will follow the reception. Information: 630-844-7844.
- Oct. 16: Open House-The School of Nursing will hold an open house for prospective transfer students from 5 to 8 p.m. in the University Banquet Hall at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. Information: 630-844-5533, admissions@aurora.edu.
- Oct. 18: Information Session-Information about Aurora University criminal justice programs will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m. in the University Banquet Hall at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. Information: 630-844-5294.
- Oct. 19-21: Homecoming-Homecoming events are scheduled rom Friday through Sunday. Cost: Free or fees for selected events. Information: 630-844-5486.
- Oct. 20: Concert-A performance by the John Jorgenson Quintet, the third of 13 events in the 2007-2008 Celebrating Arts and Ideas series, is at 8 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium at the Institute for Collaboration, 407 S. Calumet Ave. in Aurora. Free. Information: 630-844-5486.
- Oct. 23: Vaccinations Clinic-Aurora University will host flu, diphtheria, pneumonia and meningitis vaccinations by the Visiting Nurses Association from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Thornton Gymnasium at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place, Aurora. Cost: $25-$100. Information: 630-844-5434.
- Oct. 27-28: Reunion-George Williams College of Aurora University at Williams Bay, Wis., will hold an alumni reunion weekend Saturday and Sunday. Cost: Free or fees for selected events. Information: 630-844-5486.
- Oct. 27: Community Open House, Dedications-George Williams College of Aurora University at Williams Bay, Wis., will dedicate Beasley Campus Center, Meyer Hall, and Emery Lodge at 11:30 a.m., and hold an academic open house from 1 to 3 p.m. in room 101 of the Winston Paul Educational Center.
