'Union Avoidance' Focus Of HR Workshop May 30

AURORA, Ill, May 21, 2007-“Union Avoidance” is the topic of the Aurora University Human Resources Institute from 8 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at the University Banquet Hall in Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Pl., Aurora.  

The public is invited. Admission is free. Registration and refreshments are at 7:30 a.m.

William (Bill) T. Herrera, a senior-level human resource professional with more than 30 years experience, will speak. He has served as a division HR manager, senior HR business partner, corporate director and vice president of HR for companies such as SYSCO Corporation, Sara Lee, Tristar Corp., ISP/GAF Corp., Rubbermaid, Inc., and Mobil Oil.

Since 2003, Herrera has implemented a five-point, proactive employee relations process that helps organizations maintain a positive work environment.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and master’s degrees in human resources and organization development from the University of Texas at Austin.
