Local Professor Wins Toastmasters Contest

AURORA, Ill. November 16, 2006 - Aurora University professor Rochelle Santopoalo, Ph.D., won the Toastmasters International District No. 30 evaluation speech contest on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Orland Park.

Santopoalo, an Aurora resident, is a member of Naperville’s Riverwalk Toastmasters Club No.4808. She was among six contestants representing 155 clubs and 3,500 members of District No. 30.

Riverwalk Toastmasters club won the President’s Distinguished Club award.

Santopoalo, visiting assistant professor in AU’s Dunham School of Business, advanced to the district contest by winning area and division competitions.

She joined Toastmasters International in 1996 and the Naperville club in March.
