Classroom Management Is Topic of Teachers’ Workshop Sept. 21AURORA, Ill. September 14, 2006 - “Classroom Management,” a seminar for new and aspiring teachers, will be hosted by Aurora University from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21. The free program is at the University Banquet Hall in Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place. Invited are new area school teachers, AU secondary education students, and AU faculty and staff who work with AU students preparing to teach. “Classroom Management” is the third of four Thursday programs scheduled through Sept. 28 in a New Teacher Academy series sponsored by AU’s Institute for Collaboration. Presenters scheduled for Sept. 21 are Yolanda Willis, English department chairperson, East Aurora High School; Paul Linden, science and social studies teacher, Simmons Middle School; and Charles Bibbs, dean of students, West Aurora High School. The series concludes at 4 p.m. on Sept. 28 with “Getting Ready for Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences.” Speakers scheduled are Greg Scalia, principal of Jewel Middle School, North Aurora, and Joe Neukirch, social studies teacher, West Aurora High School.
