Aurora University Jazz Ensemble to Host Holiday Concert

AURORA, Ill.— Aurora University's jazz ensemble will perform popular swing tunes and Christmas favorites in a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in Perry Theatre in the Aurora Foundation Center, 1305 Kenilworth Place in Aurora.
The public is invited. Admission is free. Reservations are not required. Ralph J. Petrella of Lombard will direct the 15-piece ensemble.
Selections planned are "Watermelon Man," "Embraceable You," "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," "Killer Joe," "Jingle Bells," "Splanky," "Greensleeves," "Malagueña," and "Go Tell It On The Mountain."
Performers scheduled are:
- Amboy: Erin Blackburn, trumpet
- Aurora: Allan Gonzalez, drums; James Varney, trumpet; Elissa Decker, trombone; Will Musgrove, trombone
- Lanark: J. Albertson, bass
- Lockport: Sarah Aspel, trumpet
- Lombard: Marcus Petrella, baritone saxophone
- Montgomery: Ashely Shain, tenor saxophone
- Mundelein: Joseph Abt, tenor saxophone
- Pearl City: Sarah Sheffey, alto saxophone
- Sandwich: Patrick Moffett, guitar
- Shorewood: Ted Lundquist, trombone
- Somonauk: Ashley Cusimano, piano
