Area Educators Show Nature Photos At Aurora University Library

AURORA, Ill. — Local residents are among 25 educators exhibiting nature photos at Aurora University's Phillips Library at 315 S. Gladstone Ave. in Aurora.
"This Wild Life" is on display through Sept. 30. The exhibit is free to the public. Library hours are 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday.
Educators took the photos as students in "Biology: The Unity and Diversity of Life," an Aurora University summer graduate course. Jane L. Davis, associate professor of biology, was the instructor.
The class was designed to increase students' proficiency in teaching elementary math and science by increasing their understanding of biological content. The course is part of AU's Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership in Elementary Math and Science for Elementary School Teachers program.
Students took the photos during field trips to Morton Arboretum, Shedd Aquarium, Michigan Dunes, a Madison, Wis., arboretum and other locations.
