AURORA, Ill. —Aurora University will host “Current Trends in Sports Medicine,” AU’s fifth annual workshop for certified athletic trainers, healthcare professionals and students, on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Banquet Hall at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place, Aurora.

The cost is $50 for certified training professionals and $15 for students. Continental breakfast and refreshments are included.

Topics and presenters are:

“Management of ITB and Hamstring Injuries,” to be presented by Dr. Robert Paras of Castle Orthopedics, Aurora;

“Painful Thrower’s Shoulder: Evaluation and Management,” Dr. Sherwin Ho, University of Chicago, Chicago;

“Kinesio Taping Method: Concepts and Practical Applications” Dr. Hong Yim, Horizon Wellness, Skokie;

“The Role of the Foot in Sports: Orthotics, Uses and Indications” Robert Weil, DPM, Sports Podiatry; Aurora, and,

“A Systematic Approach to ACL Reconstruction Rehabilitation,” Jamie Rojas, ATC, ATI Rehabilitation.
