Aurora University Announces December Events

AURORA, Ill. — A Christmas concert, baseball camp and art exhibit highlight December events at Aurora University.
The public is invited. Events are free unless a fee is indicated. The schedule is:
Tuesday, Dec. 2 : A college financial aid seminar is at 6:15 p.m. in the University Banquet Hall in Alumni Hall at 1410 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. The public is invited. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served. AU financial aid representatives will discuss estimating college costs, aid eligibility factors, and scholarship search services. Scholarships, grants, loans, work-study programs, and tips for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form will also be detailed. Sunday, Dec. 7 : Sacred, classical and popular holiday selections, including Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria , will be performed in “Joy to the World!” a holiday concert by the Aurora University Chorale, Women’s Ensemble and the Music by the Lake Singers and Festival Orchestra at 7 p.m. in AU’s Crimi Auditorium in the Institute for Collaboration at 407 S. Calumet Ave. in Aurora. The concert is part of AU's 2008-2009 Celebrating Arts and Ideas series. Reservations are required. Call (630) 844-4924 or e-mail artsandideas@aurora.edu .
Saturday-Wednesday, Dec. 20-23 : Youth ages 8-18 are invited to AU's 17th annual baseball hitting camp in Thornton gym in Alumni Hall at 1410 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. The schedule is: ages 8-10, 8:15-9:45 a.m.; ages 11-13, 10-11:30 a.m.; and ages 14-18, 1-2:30 p.m. Fees are $80 for the first camper and $70 for each additional family member. The fee includes instruction, video analysis, and a tee shirt. Call 630-844-6181.
Ongoing: “Root & Shadow,” a photography exhibit of work by Christian Arrecis, Myongbeom Kim and Kim Strom, is display to Jan. 2 in the Schingoethe Gallery in Dunham Hall, 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. Call (630) 844-7843.
