10/28/2008
WILLIAMS BAY, Wis. — Fascinated by the world of media? Join students and staff of George Williams College of Aurora University for their next Bistro Speaker Series with Skip Bliss, president and CEO of Bliss Communications, headquartered in Janesville, Wis.
Bliss Communications owns and operates newspapers, radio stations and Web sites in Wisconsin, Illinois and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
The program will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5 in The Bistro at the Beasley Campus Center, on the campus located at 350 Constance Blvd. in Williams Bay. There will be a reception starting at 5 p.m. followed by Bliss’ presentation from 6 to 7 p.m.
Members of the local community, along with GWC students, faculty and staff, are invited to participate in what promises to be an informal and engaging evening exploring the business of media communications.
"Skip has been in the field of communications for more than 35 years and has been the CEO of Bliss Communications since 1992,” said David Frost, assistant professor of business at George Williams College. “Skip will be able to offer great insight on the contrast between public and private ownership of media, and the challenges faced by each.”
Bliss Communications has been owned by the Bliss family for more than 100 years.
