AURORA, Ill.—A streaming radio broadcast of the Aurora University vs. Concordia University Wisconsin homecoming football game will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18.
To listen to the live broadcast, go to AU’s homepage at www.aurora .edu and click on the Spartancast link at the bottom of the page, or go to www.aurora.edu/athletics/football/spartancast.htm and click on “Launch SpartanCast.”
Three AU students are scheduled to announce the game. They are Dave Roache, North Aurora; Toney Howell, Chicago; and Derrick Douglas, Chicago.
AU launched SpartanCast this fall to provide three shows. They are “Campus Weekly,” a talk show; SpartanCast Sports, broadcasts of select home sporting events; and SpartanCast Music, the best classic and modern music personally selected and hosted by members of the AU community.
Matt Kneller, faculty adviser, said, “We have a very motivated group of students that worked hard this semester to get the radio station off the ground.”
SpartanCast Sports shows are also re-broadcast throughout the week at 12:30 and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Campus Weekly is a 30-minute talk show devoted to news and information about the AU community.
CW hosts chat with AU students, staff and faculty about university events, student activities, and sports. The show airs throughout the week at noon, 3 p.m., 7 p.m., and 10 p.m.
This week, football team captains Marcus Goedken and Ryne Reder will discuss the upcoming homecoming game against Concordia. In addition, students from the Communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta, will talk about their organization and their carnation sale fundraiser at the homecoming game.
