Aurora U. Religion Scholar Addresses International Conference

AURORA, Ill.—Martin Forward, an Aurora University religion professor, spoke Sept. 7 at an international conference at Cambridge University in England.
Forward, professor of religious studies at AU and executive director of the Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action, discussed “Land and Memory.”
He focused on how Christian and Jewish beliefs and memories about lands such as Israel affect present-day politics.
Forward was among presenters at the 10 th anniversary conference of The Centre for the Study of Jewish–Christian Relations at Peterhouse College. He was co-founder of the Cambridge centre in 1998.
The conference theme was “Memory in a Memory-Less Age: Jewish-Christian Relations Today.”
A reception and public launch was held for a paperback edition of Dictionary of Jewish-Christian Relations . Forward contributed several entries, including “Jesus.”
