Aurora University Students To Read Poems, Fiction Thursday

AURORA, Ill.—Local Aurora University students will read original poems and fiction at 10 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 7) in the lobby of Dunham Hall at 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora.

The public is invited. The writings were produced in Heidi Rosenberg’s Creative Writing and the Art of Publishing course this summer.

Rosenberg said, “We’re celebrating the end the summer term with a creative reading event.”

After the readings, students will display mock-ups of literary journals.

Students scheduled to read are:

Aurora: Christopher Benckendorf, Ashley Hartwig, Pennie Newman, and Rebecca Ruffin

Geneva: Joseph LaValle, Emily Parris

Genoa: Michael Pierce

Oak Park: Nicole Jenkins

Woodridge: Katelyn Lussow
