Position Summary: Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Campus Safety and the Campus Safety Supervisors, assists in the control of persons in or around campus buildings, facilities, and areas adjacent to the school sites. Part-time position, 20 hours or less per week. Responsible for performing general campus safety officer responsibilities.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
High School diploma or equivalent; certified law enforcement or criminal justice background preferred; knowledge of campus regulations in connection with student conduct; laws pertaining to juveniles; controlled substances and their effect upon behavior; customs and activities indicative of undesirable groups; a working knowledge of federal, state and local laws including the Campus Security Act of 1997; ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty and staff; ability to interpret rules and regulations; ability to enforce rules and regulations firmly and fairly.
Special requirements: Ability to pass a background check; able to meet physical requirements (walk for extended periods, stand for extended periods, run when necessary, climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs with no assistance); good verbal and written communication skills, minimum 21 years of age; valid Illinois Driver's license.
This part-time position has no benefits.
