Visiting Assistant Professor and Chair of the RN to BSN Program

To facilitate this highly interactive faculty/student relationship, the typical teaching load is three 4 credit-hour courses per semester and student advising is supported by professional staff. Evidence of successful teaching, or a strong potential for successful teaching, is required for all positions. Undergraduate faculty share in the delivery of the general education program, most often by teaching within the university's interdisciplinary core.

The Visiting Assistant Professor and Chair of the RN to BSN Program is a faculty position with administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will teach in the program and work with the Director of the School of Nursing and the incumbent Chair to coordinate and administer the RN to BSN program.  Specific responsibilities will be to oversee and grow the RN to BSN program in Wisconsin and Woodstock and oversee the RN to BSN on-line program.  Responsibilities include maintaining the quality of the program through admitting and advising students in the above areas, hiring and supporting adjunct faculty to develop and teach courses and ensure students achieve the specified learning outcomes of the program. Traveling to cohort sites and to recruit new students is an expectation of this position.

 We are seeking an individual with an individual with excellent leadership skills and collaborative nature. The successful candidate will have strong teaching skills, strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have a minimum of an MSN and be a licensed Registered Nurse in both Illinois and Wisconsin.  A doctorate is preferred. Prior experience as a Chair is desirable, but not required.  Applications received by Friday, June 20, 2014, will receive full consideration.
