Aurora University is a private, independent, comprehensive institution founded in 1893 offering Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees and committed to educating students for the greater good. Our two campuses are located in Aurora, Illinois, 40 miles west of Chicago, and on the shores of Geneva Lake in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Additionally, we have an Education Center in Woodstock, Illinois.

We are looking for talented assistant professors (unless otherwise noted) to join us in Fall of 2012.

As a private institution, Aurora University expects faculty to be involved in the lives of students through mentoring, student support, enrollment initiatives, and other activities relating to the college experience. An earned doctorate (or appropriate terminal degree as specified within the position) and evidence of successful teaching or a strong potential for successful teaching, including teaching in the classroom and online are required for all positions.  Undergraduate faculty are generally expected to contribute to the interdisciplinary general education program, and the university honors program. All faculty may be asked to teach both online and on ground courses.

COMPUTER SCIENCE - Tenure Track Assistant Professor.  Teach programming courses in Java, C++, database systems, operating systems, and other advanced courses in our undergraduate program. Industry and teaching experience is highly desirable.

MATHEMATICS - Tenure Track Assistant Professor. Teach mathematics service and general education courses, undergraduate courses in the mathematics major, and graduate courses such as abstract algebra and real analysis. Ability to teach mathematics methods and mathematics education courses is desirable.

PSYCHOLOGY - Tenure Track Assistant Professor. Teach General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Psychological Assessment, other Psychology courses in the major as well as interdisciplinary courses in General Education and possible instruction in a newly developed graduate program in counseling. Requires a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology (or related psychology field).
