Homeschooled StudentsAurora University welcomes applications from students that have been homeschooled. We offer the following information to assist you in preparing your application to Aurora University. Preparing your Application The criteria for evaluating homeschooled applicants are similar to that used for all other applicants. However, we do recognize that homeschoolers' academic backgrounds are unique. We encourage homeschooled applicants to help us get an idea of their college preparation. Homeschoolers are asked to submit the following when applying to Aurora University:
Personal Interview A personal interview with an Admission Representative is required. After you submit your application, please contact the Office of Admission at 630-844-5533 to set up your interview. A tour of campus can be included in your visit. Letters of Recommendation Two letters of recommendation are strongly suggested. These can be from people who know you well as a student and as a person but are not related to you. Consider selecting an employer, a pastor, priest, or rabbi, a scout leader, athletic coach, or tutor, for example. Financial Aid Aurora University utilizes many of its own financial resources in direct scholarship aid to students. However, we also help students make use of state and federal tuition support programs. We suggest students complete the FAFSA form as early as possible (forms are available after January 1st). Aurora University offers an early estimator, complete this form to get your estimate today. Questions? Please contact the Director of Freshman Admission, James Lancaster at jlancast@aurora.edu.
