How to Apply for Aid

Step 1 - Apply for Admission at Aurora University.
You should apply to AU as early as possible. A financial aid package is processed for you only after you have been accepted to Aurora University.

Step 2 - Review Financial Aid Timeline.
Be aware of important dates and deadlines in the financial aid process with a review of the financial aid timeline (PDF).

Step 3 - Complete the FAFSA after January 1.
Apply for financial assistance by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We encourage you to file the FAFSA over the Internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov or you can receive the FAFSA from the local library or by calling Aurora University’s Office of Admission and Financial Aid at 800-742-5281. It is recommended to file your federal tax returns prior to completing the FAFSA.

Step 4 - List Aurora University (001634).
For Aurora University to receive the FAFSA results electronically, you must enter the federal school code of 001634 in Step 6 on the FAFSA.

Step 5 - Financial Aid Notification.
Once the Financial Aid office has received the results of your FAFSA, your file will be reviewed. Aurora University will provide you with a financial aid offer that may include scholarships, grants, loans and/or Federal work study. You will need to review the information and respond by the date provided to avoid delays. This step will begin March 1.
