How to Register for Classes

1. Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor. Stop in or call 630-844-6870 to make an appointment.
2. Prior to your appointment you should:
   • Review Four-Year Plans for your desired major(s).
   • Review the college catalog and the current class schedule prior to your appointment.
   • Start planning classes using your Course Schedule Worksheet .
3. Meet with your advisor to review your Course Schedule Worksheet, finalize your class schedule and get authorization to register.
4. Register for classes using WebAdvisor and view the PowerPoint from the First-Year Advising Workshop. 
5. Order your textbooks at the bookstore or online.

Other tips and information

Aurora University is on a three-letter, four digit course code system as indicated below:

1000 level - freshmen
2000 level - freshmen and sophomores
3000 level - sophomores, juniors and seniors
4000 level - juniors and seniors only
5000 level - seniors and graduate students only
6000 level - graduate students only
7000/8000 level - doctoral students only

You should also check course prerequisites before registering for a course.

AU Degree-Seeking Students - Must attend an appointment with their academic advisor prior to registration.
