Denise Hatcher Description: This course will allow students to explore opportunities and ways to use their Spanish in Aurora and the surrounding community. The instructor will identify a community project, incorporate it into the course content, and expose the students to the Spanish-speaking community that surrounds them by means of a variety of field trips to Chicago to places such as The Field Museum to explore the Ancient Americas display, the National Museum of Mexican Art, as well as a local restaurant, music, bakery, supermarket and candy store. Prerequisites: Successful completion of SPN2100 or consent of instructor. Special logistical considerations: Students will need to be able to move around two museums as well as a supermarket, bakery, restaurant and Mexican candy store. Additional course fee of $30. Students will be expected to pay for their train fare to Chicago and the cost of their own food and beverages at area locations.
* The indicated start and end times refer to the general time frame in which the course is offered (most often a standard term). The actual first or last class for a particular course may not occur on the date indicated.
