Students need to be able to walk 3-5 miles a day. This course will meet General Education Knowing Ourselves and Others (A) requirement. Location: Barcelona, Spain and Krakow, Poland Course Dates/Times: On-campus class meetings will be held on the AU Campus the week of May 17-21, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A field trip to Chicago for study about Poland will be held on May 19. Trip dates are May 23-June 20, 2010. Trip costs: $3950 includes airfare, double-occupancy accommodations, transportation on the ground, entrance fees, guides and other expenses. This will cover round-trip airfare: Chicago-Barcelona-Krakow-Chicago; 12 nights in Barcelona; and 14 nights in Krakow. The cost of food is not included. Enrollment limited to 12 students. Participants must bring a valid passport and provide proof of all necessary inoculations to instructor by March 1, 2010. A $500 non-refundable trip deposit is due at the time of registration. Trip registration and deposit must be submitted by December 15, 2009 for travel confirmation. The $3450 balance covering trip expenses is due February 1, 2010 and is not refundable after this date. In addition to the trip costs, tuition charges are $1800 which will be due April 30, 2010. |
