NOTE: This course will substitute for PED2550. Students will be required to purchase Polar heart rate monitors to be used to personally document the effects of altitude hypoxia. The monitors are available at the AU Bookstore. Pedometers will be checked out to each student as part of the course and must be returned to the instructor at the conclusion of the experience. Course Dates/Times: Class will meet on the Aurora campus May 5-9 and May 20-23 in Dunham Hall, Room 012 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado from May 11 through May 17. Trip costs: $950 includes airfare, double-occupancy accommodations, ground transportation, all excursions and admission fees. A $300 non-refundable trip deposit is due at the time of registration. Trip registration and deposit must be submitted by December 1, 2007 for travel confirmation. The $650 balance covering trip expenses is due February 1, 2008 and is not refundable after this date. |
