Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of Science
The personnel of an organization are key strategic resources in today's organizations, which recognize the importance of considering both the functional and human aspects of modern work life. Effective personnel management requires special knowledge, training, and skills to prepare managers to contribute to the development of organizational structures, staffing requirements, job descriptions, planning and administering employee benefits, and labor relations programs. For these reasons, college graduates with degrees in the management field will continue to be in high demand.
Modern personnel management requires a broad base of knowledge in contemporary business practices and in-depth knowledge of the social, psychological, and legal aspects of internal organizational relations, organizational change, and employment practices. To meet these requirements Aurora University provides the management major with a solid background in the core business areas of accounting, economics, finance, marketing and information systems, as well as in-depth familiarity with the theories of management, the practical aspects of administration, and the contemporary approaches to personnel motivation, organization change, and labor relations.
Through a set of required core courses in business and other electives focusing on management and administrative theory, students are prepared to enter business firms, social agencies, and government service in the areas of personnel management and human relations.
