THE120 Introduction to Theatre (3 semester hours)
A survey of the theatre from ancient to modern times with an emphasis on the literature, the components (design, acting, directing, play writing, architecture, technical), and its relationship with its audience.

THE140 An Introduction Film (3 semester hours)
The art of narrative film: the materials with which filmmakers work, the choices they face, the thematic significance of those choices. Historical development of both the art and the business of filmmaking; the film as a cultural force.

THE225 Oral Interpretation of Literature (3 semester hours)
A performance-based course using nondramatic literature (poetry, fiction, non-fiction) as a starting point. Students analyze and perform short solo, duo, and group pieces of literature as assigned by the instructor.

THE254 Acting (3 semester hours)
A workshop emphasizing how to read a play, how to develop a character for performance, and the rehearsal process. Students also learn stage terminology, character analysis, discipline, and the importance of interaction with the script, with other actors, and with the audience.

THE355 Dramatic Literature (3 semester hours)
