SPN110 Basic Conversational Spanish (2 semester hours)
A practical course in the most needed Spanish language patterns for communication necessary in common, everyday situations.
No prerequisites

SPN212 Elementary Spanish I (3 semester hours)
The fundamentals of Spanish grammar, with emphasis on active use of the language at all times and special attention to pronunciation. The course includes the study of vocabulary and the reading of simple texts with a cultural emphasis.
No prerequisites

SPN213 Elementary Spanish II (3 semester hours)
A continuation of SPN212.
Prerequisites: SPN212 or placement test.

SPN322 Intermediate Spanish I (3 semester hours)
Training in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish and includes a review of grammar, intensive reading of texts in standard Spanish; outside reading for content. Stresses active use of the language and a cultural emphasis in content.
Prerequisites: SPN213 or placement test.

SPN323 Intermediate Spanish II (3 semester hours)
A continuation of SPN322.
Prerequisites: SPN322 or placement test.

SPN340 Advanced Spanish Skills (3 semester hours)
This course will emphasize and require students to perfect Spanish grammar skills, paying particular attention to verb tenses and the subjunctive mood.
Prerequisites: SPN323 or consent

SPN350 Advanced Spanish Literature (3 semester hours)
Advanced Spanish literature will present students with the opportunity to read and analyze a variety of Spanish short stories written by selected Spanish speaking authors.
Prerequisites: SPN323 or consent
