CHM120 Principles of General Chemistry (3 semester hours)
One-term course for non-majors covering the basics of general and inorganic chemistry, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, radioactivity, behavior of gases and solutions, acid-base neutralization, and the chemistry of inorganic compounds. Includes lab work.
Prerequisites: Completion or concurrent registration in MTH110.

CHM125 Principles of Organic and Biochemistry (4 semester hours)
A one-term course for non-majors that covers the basics of organic and biochemistry as they relate to the health sciences. Includes lab work.
Prerequisite: CHM120.

CHM131 General Chemistry I (4 semester hours)
Fundamental principles of chemistry: atoms and molecules, nomenclature, stoichiometry, first law of thermodynamics, atomic structure and the periodic table, chemical bonding and geometry, properties of gases, kinetic molecular theory, liquids and solids, intermolecular forces, solutions and colligative properties. Includes lab work.
Prerequisites: Completion or concurrent registration in MTH110.

CHM132 General Chemistry II (4 semester hours)
Continuation of General Chemistry I: chemical equilibria, acid-base equilibria, solubility equilibria, reaction rates, second law of thermodynamics, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, chemistry of metals, and coordination compounds. Includes lab work.
Prerequisite: CHM131.

CHM/NSM180 Search and Discovery (3 semester hours)
Crosslisted with NSM180. For description see NSM180.
