Before coming to Aurora in 2006, John taught theatre at William Rainey Harper College, Indiana University Northwest and North Central College. John's scenic design for Medea (at IUN) was presented the Award of Meritorious Achievement from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. As a professional designer, technical director, and craftsperson, John's work has been seen in theatres all over the country including: Minnesota Opera, Candlelight Dinner Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Northbrook Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Washington Opera, Arena Stage, and Santa Fe Opera. John has a B.A. in speech, art, and music from Glenville State College and an M.F.A. in theatre design and technology from Ohio University.
