Join the AU Music Department and the University Chorale!

As a member of the University Chorale, you will have the opportunity to work with other students who enjoy singing. Members of the University Chorale can also earn applied course credit that will count toward the minor in music. Chorale singers are also eligible to audition for a music scholarship each spring; scholarship recipients are chosen based on the auditions.

The Chorale is comprised of new and continuing students and is led by Christine Flasch. Ms. Flasch is a distinguised musician who also directs the Music by the Lake summer festival at AU's George Williams College campus near Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Flasch is trained in the rich Midwest choral tradition and holds a master's degree in vocal performance. She pursued a solo career which spanned 12 years singing soprano roles nationwide, culminating in eight seasons with the Metropolitan Opera Chorus in New York. Since that time, she has taught voice and held appointments at several colleges and universities.

Currently she directs two professional ensembles, the Music by the Lake Singers and the Festival Orchestra, both of which are associated with the Music by the Lake festival. Ms. Flasch has been an instructor of voice at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, as well as AU.
