Main Stage: Music of the Baroque - Listen Live on 98.7 WFMT
(Arts and Culture)

This concert will be broadcast live on 98.7 WFMT. You may listen here from your computer.

One of Chicagoland's top classical groups, Music of the Baroque focuses on 18th-century works for chorus and orchestra. The ensemble has drawn particular praise for its performances of the major choral works of Bach and Handel, Mozart and Haydn. Sixty of the Chicago area's finest professional musicians comprise the chorus and orchestra. At this event, Music of the Baroque will perform Haydn's The Creation, in which the creation of the universe unfolds in vivid musical pictures-from darkness and chaos, to the emergence of light, to the pleasures of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Jane Glover conducts the orchestra, chorus and soloists. Elizabeth Futral, Nicholas Phan and Christòpheren Nomura will perform in this timeless work.
