Spring Concert of the Aurora University Choirs
(Arts and Culture)

This concert is a highlight of the choirs' performing season. The first half of the concert features the choirs on their own performing a wide variety of choral literature from jazz to motets to multicultural works. The second half will feature the monumental Beethoven's Mass in C Major in collaboration with our musical friends, Fox Valley Orchestra and Chorus (Colin Holman, music director)

The solo quartet vocalists: Jennifer Barnickle-Fitch, soprano, Martha Kasten, mezzo soprano, Joshua Baum, tenor, and Timothy Christopoulos, bass-baritone.

Beethoven's Mass in C Major was written in 1807, in the middle of Beethoven's output. It has the flavor of the 4th and 5fth Symphonies as well as the Appassionata Sonata, which he was working on simultaneously with the Mass in C. Beethoven's strength, power and sensitivity are all present in this extraordinary mass. This concert will be repeated as part of the Fox Valley Orchestra's season on April 28 , at 3:00 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium, but with the Orchestra occupying the first half.

This event is at capacity. Reservations are no longer being accepted.
