Art Exhibit: "From Bark to Beads and Everything in Between..."
(Arts and Culture)

From the east to the west, from the north to the south, basket-making was an art form that has been a part of Native American cultures for thousands of years dating from as early as 7,500 B.C. Baskets were used in the Native Americans' daily lives, and each culture area developed different forms, materials, construction techniques and uses for baskets.

The Schingoethe Center for Native American Cultures will host an opening reception for an exhibit curated by students of Aurora University's Museum Studies program on April 24, 2009.

The exhibit runs from April 24, 2009 through February 24, 2010.
