Formed in 1995 at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival in Connecticut, the Avalon String Quartet has since won numerous prestigious awards and received rave reviews for its performances.

The quartet has been described by the Chicago Tribune as "an ensemble that invites you — ears, mind, and spirit — into its music," and as a result, has established itself as one of the country's leading ensembles.
