Athletic Training Program at Aurora University
Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers, health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Potential employment opportunities include working in high schools, colleges and universities, sports medicine clinics, hospital based physical therapy clinics, fitness centers, and industrial health care facilities.
This degree is designed to fulfill BOC exam eligibility and Illinois State licensing requirements to practice in the State of Illinois. Our graduates are also prepared for advanced graduate study in various health-related fields. The program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and is approved by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
