Jamie Walters enters her second season with the Aurora University Spartan volleyball program, with the 2007 season being her first as the Head Coach. Walters spent her first season with the Aurora University volleyball team as an assistant coach under Jerry Angle (now retired). That season, the Spartans had a 19-14 record and won the 2006 Northern Athletics Conference championship.

Walters volleyball experience is extensive both as a coach and a player. Her 10 years of coaching student-athletes and background as a player provide the leadership to guide the Spartans.

"I enjoy being around the game of volleyball and developing players. Coming to Aurora University gives me the opportunity to do both," Walters said. "We have the support to develop a very competitive program, and the players who are part of this program will be part of something special."

Before coming to Aurora University, Walters was the head coach at Dominican University for both the men and women's teams. The DU men's team won the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Club Championship. Prior to this, Walters coached at Waubonsee Community College, the College of DuPage and West Chicago Community High School.

Walters has also coached a number of junior club programs and she spent nine years as a coach for the Side Out Volleyball Association. She also was the tournament director for six years while coaching. In 2003, Walters helped coach the Junior College National team and in 2006, she was a coach at the World Scholar Athlete Games.

As a player, Walters was a two-time Junior College All-American at College of DuPage, winning consecutive national championships. She was named the MVP of the national tournament. Walters received All-American Honors both of her years at the College of Dupage. Additionally, both of Walters' teams were inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame.

Walters then played for AU's Northern Athletics Conference rival Benedictine University and was a NCAA Division III All- Region player. The Benedictine team qualified for the NCAA championships both seasons and won Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference titles.

Jamie resides in Lisle, IL.
