Kent Keith

Kent Keith is the chief executive officer of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. His work focuses on a life-affirming and transformative approach to professional and personal engagement. This profound leadership approach is guiding endeavors in business, education, government, health care and not-for-profit leadership, and is the driving spirit behind several of the Fortune 500 "Best Companies to Work For."

Keith is the author of "The Paradoxical Commandments," which was first published in 1968 in a booklet for student leaders. During the past 10 years, he has published four books about the commandments, including "Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments," which became a national best-seller, and has been translated into 17 languages. His commandments have been used by millions of people around the world, including Mother Teresa. Keith is also the author of "The Case for Servant Leadership" and "Servant Leadership in the Boardroom: Fulfilling the Public Trust," published by the Greenleaf Center.

Known for his mission to help people find personal meaning in a crazy world, Keith has published hundreds of articles, essays, newsletters and other publications on servant leadership. His work inspires and informs those who aspire to serve the "greater good" through serving others. He has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, People and Family Circle. He has also appeared on dozens of television shows, including TODAY, as well as hundreds of radio programs.

Keith has been an attorney, state government official, high-tech park developer, university president and YMCA executive. He is also the author of "The Universal Moral Code," a set of fundamental moral principles that summarize how we should live and treat each other.
